George Dikaios is an adjunct lecturer and a researcher at the Department of Ports Management and Shipping at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). He is also a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration of the same University. He is a Senior Research Fellow of the UNESCO Chair on Climate Diplomacy, a Research Fellow of the Institute of European Integration & Policy, and the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP). His teaching and research revolve around international organizations, European governance, climate policies and diplomacy, maritime transport and port policies, blue growth and sustainability, geopolitics, and AI politics. He participates in several research projects funded by various sources (e.g., the EU [Horizon, Jean Monnet, etc.], NKUA, and UNICEF), and he has received numerous scholarships and grants for his research. George holds a bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD from the NKUA and a master’s from Leiden University in the Netherlands. His book, ‘EU Climate Diplomacy Towards the IMO and ICAO’, was published in 2024 by Palgrave Macmillan, while his research appears in scientific journals, and he often participates in academic conferences. George was a Young Ocean Leader at the 9th Our Ocean Conference;he is currently a Sasakawa Young Leader and a Future Think Tank Leader of the NEXT Milan Forum.
